The Argenta Neighborhood Boosters met Thursday night August 7th at 1st Presbyterian Church in Argenta. There was approximately 15-20 people present including mayor candidiate Bubba Lloyd. The police and codes representatives were not present. Treasurer Sarah Kinser reported the Boosters had a bank balance of approximately $1300 and the Community Garden committee had a balance of about $1700.
Richard Carroll, the Green Party candidiate for the AR State House
District 39 seat spoke about issues in the District including
education, jobs and public safety. Mr Carroll also took questions from
the residents about TIFs, State historic tax credits, community
redevelopment bonds and legislation procedures.
After Mr. Carroll, Brian Cpnverse with Kharma Consulting spoke about
the Argenta Wireless network in the neighborhood. Security was
discussed as well as coverage area and system reliability. Several
questions were asked about security and reliability
The block party was also discussed and Scott Miller reported that the
chariperson had conflicts and a new chairperson would be required.
Scott reported he would be looking for a volunteer to chair the Block
Party on October 18th. The neighborhood Yard Sale was discussed and most present
wanted the yard sale pushed back to the Halloween weekend. The RV
convention was also briefly discussed and Scott Miller indicated he
would attempt to obtain a speaker for the next meetring who can update
the neighborhood on the details, activities and what to expect during
the RV convention weekend.
