Dogtown Wire

The movie opens up with a military convoy driving in Afghanistan. Inside one of the vehicles is a well dressed gentleman who turns out to be Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey, Jr. A multi millionaire who inherited his father’s weapons company. Stark is a genius who develops weapons of much destruction. Stark is being his usual charming self when the convoy comes under fire. The last scene we see is Tony has been injured and apparently taken into captivity.

After the opening sequence we are introduced to the rest of the characters in this film, Col. James Rhodes or Roadie (well underplayed by Terence Howard), who is his liaison with the military and a friend. The aptly named Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) who is his mentor and was a partner of Tony’s late father. Gwyneth Paltrow plays Pepper Potts; his loyal and trusted assistant who handles everything, even gently taking care of one of Stark’s many female conquests the morning after.
