"Tarnation," Webster tells us, is an 18th century substitute for "damnation." In short, it implies bad things.
Well, let's hear it for English being a living language, because in the
extremely localized incarnation as the new CD from local bluegrass
foursome Runaway Planet, "Tarnation" is actually a heap of fun to be in
the midst of.
Last Saturday night at The After Thought in Little Rock, Runaway Planet
put the spurs to their traditional instruments and delivered a
high-energy, high-enjoyment, two-hour set for a full house of fans. It
was the second release party for their new CD; a previous show at
Whitewater Tavern about a week before resulted in a standing-room-only
crowd that drank the bar dry.

Tuesday night, August 5th, North Little Rock neighborhoods will be celebrating National Night Out across the City. The program is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, support local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and to send a message to criminals that local communities are organized and taking steps to combat local crime.
The National Night Out program is celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year and it's activities have greatly expanded over the years. What started with keeping front porch "light's on" and front porch vigils has expanded to block parties, cookouts, and police visits among others. So Tuesday night turn on your porch lights and come down to your local neighborhood celebration.
Following the jump is a rundown of the 9 NLR communities' celebrations.

Zapata Grill which recently opened at 4305 Warden Road north of McCain Mall was the feature of a recent review by the Arkansas Times. The restaurant features an interesting twist on Tex-Mex cuisine, with dishes ranging from crawfish enchiladas to grilled quail. See the complete review at the Arkansas Times.
Also here's a pdf link to the menu from the original Zapata Grill in Texarkana, it may not be completely up to date for the Little Rock location but should give a better idea of the menu and the prices - Menu.pdf
If you have visited Zapata Grill already, please give us your reviews in the comments.
