River City Ministry is having a football related fund raiser on Tues. the 22nd of July. Yes, that's tomorrow. We didn't have a lot of time to promote this event, due to the 5k being so close to the date. However, our brother Tank Daniels only had one evening available that we could celebrate his Super Bowl win with him. Tank is the only Harding football player to ever play in the pro's. This year he caught on with the Giants as a special team player, and earned his Super Bowl ring.
There is little to add to what Scott posted earlier on the Wire.
The passion that brought forth the website – and the decision to take the chance to try something we both felt was nothing but a positive for the city – goes directly to that old adage, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.”
If fate so deems it I will be staying in North Little Rock and will post stories to the Dogtown Wire when time and inspiration permit.
Naturally I appreciate Scott for the chance to take news to a different level and technology, and want to thank you all for the support you have shown during the past 12 weeks.
All I will ask is that the readers give the transition the time required and that they embrace the website as something that can only add to the public discourse in the city and maybe help to make changes you want.
After several discussions and long, hard contemplation D.J. nad I have parted ways on Dogtown Wire. This site will continue and this split was amicable. D.J. and I remain friends. However in that friendship, I believe we both went into this venture not recognizing some of the limitations and expectations we both had. Our shared passion for this type of news source also somewhat blinded us. D.J. is a tremendous writer and he will contribue to post stories as he wishes. This site will move in a direction to provide more news from all available sources, so this site can become your one-stop news source for North Little Rock.
We will have a slight lull in the types of stories posted for about a week until I find a replacement for D.J. In the meantime if you are interested in running this site please e-mail me at

I cannot speak highly enough of D.J. and his great writing. I count my self blessed and very fortunate to have him as friend now and in the future. I will continue to support and promote D.J. as much as I can. Thank you D.J.
Due to a lack of a quorum, the airport commission meeting
scheduled for tonight has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later

It’s not too often that the race
for a North Little Rock seat in the state House of Representatives merits
top-of-the-page, A1 coverage in the statewide daily newspaper. On a Sunday, no
less.
However, that’s what we got over
the weekend, when the Democratic Party of Arkansas met to certify its nominees
for the general election ballot ... but only after crafting a new rule meant to
explicitly prohibit Dwayne Dobbins from making a run for the District 39 seat
he once held.
You probably know the story, but
here it is again in a nutshell: Dobbins left that seat three years ago as part
of a plea bargain to avoid a felony sexual assault charge for fondling a
17-year-old girl in his home. His wife Sharon took over his seat after a
special election, then won election in 2006, but this year instead of filing
for re-election as expected, she sat out ... and he walked in at the end of the
filing period to get on the primary ballot — unchallenged.

KARK said Sunday that the Little Rock Police Department is looking for help to
find David Heath Potts whose last officially listed address was 5200 Standridge Road
on the eastern edge of North Little Rock.
Potts failed to register as a sex offender and is not
considered to be dangerous. If anyone has seen Potts (as
described in the KARK story) you can call the Little Rock Police Department at
340-TIPS (8477) or the North Little Rock Police Department at 758-1234.
